Notice to Mounted Historic Reeactors 2008
Dear
Mounted Historic Reenacctors:
Due
to the equine herpes virus which prohibited many equestrian events in the late
winter and early spring in our area, the
1)
Updated coggins
2)
List of current vaccines (with dates)
3)
Each horse must have its own water container (or a separate
container for each unit). No communal water or food troughs will be made
available and it is advised that watering containers should not be shared
between units’ horses.
4)
All reenactors who will be riding or
bringing horses on site MUST pre-register. There will be no exceptions
and all horses & riders will be turned away who are not registered in
advance.
5)
Those cavalry reenactors who are not
mounted may register on site.
The
pre-registration procedure is intended to protect the horses and our property –
which often has equestrian events. Thank you for your understanding and
compliance.
Please
feel free to let other cavalry units know and definitely ask them to let me
know if they have any questions.
